Benromach Single Cask #128 Whisky (UK Exclusive) 2009 Vintage
Out of stock
An extremely limited, UK Exclusive, single cask from Benromach distillery. Distilled in 2010 and matured in a first fill Bourbon barrel before being bottled in 2019 at a cask strength of 59.9%. 1 of only 248 bottles.
The nose has lot of classic sweetness, vanilla, coconut, pastry and brioche. There's also alot of spiciness: clove, cinnamon, baking spices. Fruit comes through after the sweetness with pear drops, orange peel and apricots. Drying embers on the close.
The palate is textured and slightly chewy, it gives a lovely mouth watering arrival. Again subtle and dry, no big dominant smoke here. Starting off sweet with pear crumble and custard, it leads into a drier mid-palate with more pronounced oaky spice. Drying and warming on the departure with a gentle and pleasant ashy quality to the finish.
The finish is medium long, though the alcohol doesn't overwhelm it. Again subtle with the drying peat smoke, very much like a lingering bonfire ember, the warmth really frames the bourbon cask elements nicely. Another cracking dram.

Finish
Medium-long finish, subtly drying with peat smoke that lingers like a bonfire ember. Warmth from the bourbon cask threads through the finale, framing the oak and spice and leaving a quietly ashy, lasting glow.
