Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a ruby-tinged mahogany hue.
Nose
Vibrant watermelon and pomegranate open with red apple skin, unfolding into earthy smoke and new leather. Bright blood orange sparks fruit and floral notes—rose petal, kumquat and glace cherry—while smoky ham and griddled pineapple hint at the cask finish.
Palate
Crunchy cranberry and pomegranate meet black peppercorn spice in a dry, earthy body. Leather folds through pink grapefruit, charred orange rind and chocolate bitters as damsons rest in spiced/aromatic stock syrup with a hint of clove and nutmeg. Red wine tannins lace the finish, lifted by a whisper of pink lemonade.
Finish
Peppery watermelon and crunchy wine tannins linger, with cranberry and a wisp of smoke. Notes of honeyed ham, dark chocolate and waxy blood orange mingle with a fresh mint lift and a trace of blackcurrant leaf, leaving a refined, wine-kissed finish.
