Benromach Contrasts - Organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky 9 Year Old · 2015 Vintage
In stock
Did you know that Benromach were the first Scotch whisky to be certified as organic by the UK Soil Association?
Benromach achieved this accolade almost 20 years ago, in 2006, and they are proud of the hard work and dedication that goes into making Organic, one of the on-going small batch releases within the Benromach Contrasts range.
Distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024, Organic has matured for 9 years in Virgin Oak, meaning the casks have not previously contained anything else which leads to a malty, banana and cocoa flavour profile.
In contrast to our Benromach core range, Organic uses unpeated barley so the characteristics are not smoky but instead have more creamy pepper, toasted malt and freshly ground coffee notes.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich golden-amber with coppery undertones and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Malty, inviting nose with ripe banana and cocoa sweetness. Toasted malt and creamy pepper rise, while a gentle coffee lift from virgin oak adds roasted depth. Subtle vanilla and a touch of sweetness round the aroma, revealing an unpeated profile crafted in organic, small-batch fashion.
Palate
Silky, creamy entry with a gentle peppery warmth. Banana-forward malt gives way to toasted malt, cocoa and espresso, lifted by vanilla and subtle virgin oak spice. The finish lingers cocoa-rich and coffee-kissed, softly balanced and enduring.
Finish
Long, warming finish with toasted malt and cocoa lingering. Espresso and roasted coffee notes weave through creamy pepper, while a subtle vanilla oak sweetness hums in the background, fading to a soft, comforting spice that holds on.
