Ben Nevis Claxton's Single Cask Whisky 17 Year Old · 1999 Vintage
Out of stock
Just 270 bottles were drawn from a hogshead for this 17 year old Ben Nevis, a distillery with diminishing stocks at present and anything above a 10 year old is getting harder to find.
A light, sweet and creamy nose to begin, apple pie and custard, summer grass and highland toffee. The palate is light and refreshing, less of the sweetness and more warming spice, cinnamon, ginger, baking spices and lts of oak. The finish is drying , citrusy fresh with a slight tannic hit on the end.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with sunlit honey tones and subtle copper glints.
Nose
Delicate, creamy perfume greets the nose, a light sweetness carried by apple pie and custard, with hints of summer grass and Highland toffee.
Palate
Light and refreshing on the tongue, it sheds sweetness to reveal warming spices—cinnamon, ginger, and baking spice—interwoven with generous oak. The mouthfeel stays crisp and silky, with hints of citrusy tannins emerging as the spice dries, leaving a poised, final lift of oak that lingers warmly.
Finish
A drying finish, bright and citrusy, with a subtle tannic bite lingering at the end.
