Ben Nevis Batch No.1 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Year Old · 2008 Vintage
Out of stock
This is Batch 1 of the cask strength 10 year old, a whisky that has been matured in first fill Bourbon, Sherry and wine casks. With doubt surrounding the continued bottling of the standard 10 year old (46%) this may be your best chance to get a bottle from this popular Highland distillery.
Tasting notes supplied by Charles Maclean:
A lively and exotic expression of Ben Nevis.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze depth and a warm honey-gold edge, touched by a subtle ruby glow.
Nose
An intriguingly mild yet powerful aroma, drying and rich. A big, complex profile opens with a top-note of fresh and dried fruit—bruised apple, glace cherries, dried figs and dates. In the middle, fragrant aromatherapy oils rest on a base of planed hardwood. A splash of water tightens the finish, revealing a trace of ginger snaps and drying the aroma further, with a hint of butterscotch developing.
Palate
Silky on the palate with a gentle sweetness that dries rapidly to a spicy, drying finish and a faint fondant aftertaste. Water opens the profile further, revealing a trace of matchbox striker and a halo of Sichuan pepper intertwined with powdered ginger.
Finish
A drying, spicy finish that lingers with a warming bite, leaving a delicate fondant echo on the palate.
