This Single Malt has been matured exclusively in a First Fill Ex-Bourbon barrel for at least twelve years. The craft of Whisky-making and the alchemy of cask, spirit and time are embodied perfectly. Each cask tells its own story and its yeld is, by nature, one of a kind.
Whilst no two casks will ever produce and identical Single Malt, because of the careful sampling and selection by Balvenie's Malt Master, the Balvenie Single Barrel has a consistent character which is rich and complex, with a deep vanilla oakiness. Honey notes are overlaid with sweet fruits and subtle spices. The finish is lingeringly sweet.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with warm honey tones and subtle copper highlights.
Nose
Warm vanilla and toasty oak rise from the glass, lifted by honeyed sweetness. Subtle fruit notes—pear and apricot—appear with gentle spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, weaving a creamy caramel undercurrent. The aroma is luxurious and lingering, a refined invitation from Balvenie’s First-Fill bourbon cask character.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied on the palate with a pronounced vanilla oak from the first-fill bourbon. Honeyed sweetness swathes ripe fruits—peach and pear—while gentle spices such as cinnamon and white pepper weave through. Creamy, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish of warm, refined sweetness.
Finish
An enduring, honeyed sweetness lingers, draped in vanilla and toasted oak. Subtle spices and ripe fruit notes whisper through the finish, leaving a warm, velvety echo that slowly fades.
