Colour

Dark amber with copper-gold highlights.

Nose

Confectioners' sugar sweetness and cool-smoked butter rise over corn husk, BBQ pit smoke and stone fruit, with a lively kiss of chili peppers and a soft graham cracker warmth that lingers in a refined, smoky bouquet.

Palate

Candied oak smoke, English pipe tobacco, butter, orange marmalade, fruit cocktail, sweet tea and a lingering kick of chili peppers.

Finish

A long, dry finish that lingers with herbal mint and mineral notes, as the smoke reappears to echo in the aftertaste.

Balcones was founded in Waco, Texas, in 2008, beginning in an old welding shop under a bridge before growing into one of the leading names in American single malt and Texas whisky. The distillery helped establish Texas as a serious whisky-producing region, with early releases including Baby Blue, a blue corn whisky, and Texas “1” Single Malt. Its name comes from the Balcones Fault, the geological fault line running through central Texas.
