Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich golden-amber with sunlit honey hues, edged in deeper bronze and copper tones that glisten with a warm caramel glow.

Nose

Bright orchard fruit and ripe apples rise with Calvados warmth. Pear drops and baked-apple sweetness mingle with vanilla cream and light toffee. Subtle spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—drifts through toasted oak, while lemon zest adds a lively, zippy lift.

Palate

Bright orchard fruits on the palate—crisp apple and ripe pear—infused with Calvados-brandy spice. Creamy vanilla and honeyed toffee, velvety texture, subtle oak, and a warm, apple-forward finish with a lingering cinnamon-nutmeg glow.

Finish

Silky and orchard-bright, the finish unfolds with baked apple and ripe pear, a honeyed sweetness from Calvados cask aging. Vanilla, cinnamon and gentle spice drift through warm oak, fading to a long, graceful echo of fruit and warmth that lingers invitingly on the palate.

Aber Falls
Aber Falls was commissioned in late 2017 and began production in early 2018 in Abergwyngregyn, North Wales, close to Rhaeadr Fawr, the Aber Falls waterfall. It was the first whisky distillery in North Wales for more than 100 years and forms part of Halewood Artisanal Spirits, with production centred on Welsh ingredients and local distillation.
