This is the next best thing to Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon in being a "wheated Bourbon" but now even this bottle is becoming difficult to keep in stock. Now produced at The Buffalo Trace distillery and bottled around 7 years old and is a spice led Bourbon and so easy drinking.

Tasting Notes
Colour
A warm, radiant amber with coppery highlights and honey-gold edges, like sunset in a glass.
Nose
Silky vanilla and caramel rise with honeyed brown sugar, underpinned by a creamy wheated sweetness. Toasted oak adds warmth, while baking spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice—unfold with restrained elegance. A touch of maple and citrus zest brightens the aroma, inviting a refined, easy-drinking profile.
Palate
Silky, creamy mouthfeel with caramel and vanilla at the fore, folded into honeyed corn and brown sugar. Subtle orchard fruit and toasted oak emerge, while spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice—linger and grow. A wheated sweetness stays balanced by gentle warmth, delivering a long, plush finish of vanilla, caramel and spice.
Finish
Long, warm finish glazed with vanilla and caramel, carried by toasted oak and gentle baking spices. A whisper of white pepper keeps it lively, while honeyed sweetness lingers into a silky, approachable finish that invites the next sip.
