The Boss Hog Series: The name says it all. This is the biggest, most profound Whiskey from Whistlepig, for the Boss Hog in all of us. As with all Boss Hog releases, this is single barrel, bottled at barrel proof, powerfully complex, distinctly unique and stupendous. The 5th edition in the Boss Hog series is a 13 Year Straight Rye Whiskey finished in Calvados Casks. A fine balance between American power and French sophistication. Maple syrup and pears dominate on the palate, balanced by dark chocolate and oaky spice.
The Spirit Of Mauve, is a celebration of Mauve, a celebrity pig. Mauve's lover, Mortimer, was tragically killed defending her honor in 2014, and was memorialized in The Boss Hog, 2nd Edition, The Spirit Of Mortimer. Mauve heroically persevered for the sake of their son, Mortimer Jr, but sadly joined Mortimer in heaven this Valentines Day. The pain of a broken heart can prove too much for even the strongest of pigs.

Opulent orchard fruits lead the bouquet: ripe pear and baked apple layered with maple syrup, lifted by Calvados‑cask spice—vanilla, warm oak, and a kiss of almond. Apple skin and toffee notes unfold against a rich, barrel‑proof backbone, delivering depth and refined decadence.
Palate
Opulent and powerful, the palate opens with maple syrup and pear at the fore, edged by dark chocolate and toasted oak spice. The Calvados finish adds orchard brightness, delivering a full, velvety texture and a long, warming, refined finish.
Finish
Long, opulent finish of orchard fruit—ripe pears and apples—enriched by Calvados cask influence. A warm apple-brandy glow lingers, with dark chocolate, vanilla, and oaky spice fading into a refined, persistent warmth.
