Another new Tomatin expression. Here we have a Rum finished Highland Single Malt and we have a feeling this is going to be very good! Distilled in 2009, this has been matured in a combination of first-fill and refill casks for nine years, before being finished for one year in rum casks. Bottled at 46% abv, the whisky is said to contain notes of ‘soft tropical fruit, mocha and salted caramel’ as a result of the rum cask finishing. Only 7,200 bottles of the 2009 Caribbean Rum Finish have been produced.

Colour
Deep amber with coppery-gold highlights, a sun-kissed, honey-toned hue that glows in the glass.
Nose
Aromas of soft tropical fruit rise first, unfolding into mocha and salted caramel, with a subtle rum-kissed sweetness that lingers.
Palate
Silky, mouth-coating palate with bright tropical fruit notes, complemented by mocha and salted caramel. A hint of vanilla and toasted oak provides structure, while the rum finish leaves a warm, lingering spice that evolves into a long, creamy aftertone.
Finish
Long, indulgent finish of tropical fruit notes, chased by mocha and salted caramel. The rum cask influence lingers with warm, honeyed sweetness, revealing vanilla, toffee and soft spice as the palate settles into a creamy, comforting fade.
