Thompson Bros Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 19 Year Old · 2007 Vintage
In stock
Distilled in 2007 and matured for 19 years in refill hogsheads, this Highland Single Malt from Thompson Bros represents the final release from the bottler's parcel of undisclosed stock sourced from a highly regarded island distillery. The restrained influence of refill wood has allowed the spirit's coastal, mineral and heavily peated character to remain at the forefront, while nearly two decades of maturation have added depth and complexity. Bottled at a powerful 57.1% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Charred hazelnuts, dusty peated malt and grist, burnt sage and rosemary, followed by oily fishing ropes, tar and maritime notes. Crushed seashells and heather smoke are complemented by touches of quince and apple peel.
Palate
Powerful and concentrated, with sharp citrus, heather honey and stewed apples alongside salt, wet slate and pronounced minerality. Smoked ham, anchovies and capers in brine develop into a malty, salty and deeply savoury character.
Finish
Salty peanut brittle with persistent, earthy peat, robust smoke and a lingering cigar-like character.
