Deep coppery amber with radiant golden-amber highlights and a whisper of mahogany.

Nose

Opulent sherry aroma with ripe summer berries and red currants, evolving into autumnal spice—cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Dark-fruit cake, raisin and stewed plum mingle with toasted oak, vanilla and a whisper of caramel, signaling the whisky’s luxurious depth.

Palate

Stewed fruit, demerara sugar and sweet apple shape the palate, a lush, fruit-forward core supported by soft sherry-cask warmth and a lingering fruitcake sweetness.

Finish

An expansive, lasting finish that lingers with dried cherry and charred oak, a warm, oak-kissed sweetness leaving velvet echoes on the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
