The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 9 Year Old · 2005 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich golden amber with coppery-mahogany hues.
Nose
Polished oak and creamy barley give way to dried orange peel, fig and raisin, lifted by vanilla, honeyed toffee and a touch of almond. Subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—unfolds with a whisper of sherry, delivering a refined, warm perfume with hints of cocoa and a distant smoke.
Palate
Velvety, sherried palate with toffee, vanilla and orange zest. Dried fig and dark fruit unfold, guided by spice—cinnamon and clove—and polished oak. Cocoa lingers through a long, warming finish with a hint of espresso.
Finish
Long and elegant, the finish carries orange zest and dark raisin over toasted oak, with a cocoa-tinged sweetness. Spicy warmth lingers, narrowing to vanilla, almond and a refined dried-oak note that slowly fades with a gentle, drying finish.
