The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 9 Year Old · 2000 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery-gold sheen and a whisper of mahogany, radiating warm, sherry-hued depth.
Nose
Rich sherry-drenched aromas of dried fig and raisin rise, with candied orange zest and dark chocolate. Vanilla and nutmeg mingle with cinnamon, as polished oak lends a velvety backbone. Subtle leather and espresso notes complete a deep, opulent Macallan bouquet that promises a layered and refined palate.
Palate
Silky, medium-weight palate delivering rich dried fruit—raisin and fig—alongside orange zest, vanilla and subtle spice. Notes of cocoa and toffee emerge as the oak is polished and refined, guided by a gentle sherry sweetness. A warm, lingering finish with elegant oak and a concluding hint of spice.
Finish
Long, satin finish with Christmas-spice warmth, ripe figs and orange zest, a velvety layer of dark chocolate, and a soft kiss of oak. The sherry notes persist, gradually fading to elegant, refined spice.
