The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 9 Year Old · 1999 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.
A bargain priced bottle of genuine ex-Sherry casked Macallan at the slightly higher ABV of 43%. The 1999 vintage is now no longer available.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany-tinged edges.
Nose
Opulent sherry aromas flood the nose, with ripe raisin, fig and orange zest mingling with burnt sugar and toasted oak. Cocoa, leather and spice—cinnamon and clove—thread through a polished sweetness, lifted by vanilla and almond, signature Macallan depth in a nine-year frame.
Palate
Silky and medium-full, the palate carries rich sherried fruit—fig, raisin and plum—accented by orange zest, dark chocolate and cocoa nib. Spiced notes of cinnamon and clove mingle with polished oak, delivering a velvety sweetness and a long, refined warmth that lingers.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with warm spice and dried-fruit sweetness. Rich raisin, orange zest and cocoa unfold against toasted oak, as sherry depth lingers softly on the palate. A hint of leather and balsamic notes fades into polished wood, leaving a persistent, classy warmth.
