The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 21 Year Old · 1990 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.
An extreme value for money 21 year old Macallan drawn from a 1990 ex-Sherry cask.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry perfume with dark fruits: raisin, fig and date mingle with orange zest and toffee. Spices rise—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—beneath roasted almond and cocoa. Subtle leather and tobacco add old‑wood elegance, with a warm, lingering sherry sweetness.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly sherried on the palate. Dried fig, raisin and orange zest mingle with toffee and dark chocolate, framed by toasted oak and a whisper of spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Subtle almond and leather notes emerge, delivering a warm, velvety texture. Long finish with lingering spice and cocoa.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with raisin and fig sweetness from the ex‑Sherry cask, tempered by Macallan’s sandalwood oak. Notes of orange peel, dark chocolate, and Christmas spice linger, slowly fading to a warm, peppery kiss of cinnamon and oak tannin.
