The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 32 Year Old · 1980 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.
It's impossible to buy a 32 year old Macallan for this price from anywhere else, thanks to the people at Gordon and MacPhail.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, luminous amber with copper-gold highlights and a subtle mahogany edge.
Nose
Opulent sherried bouquet of dried fig, raisin and orange zest, with toffee and vanilla. Cocoa, almond paste and a touch of cinnamon and clove emerge, then yield to polished oak and cedar, an elegant, aged perfume that lingers.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied with a refined sherry-led sweetness. Dried figs and raisins knit with orange zest, caramel toffee and vanilla, while polished oak and spice provide structure. The mid-palate glides to a long, warm finish of cocoa, leather and lingering orange zest.
Finish
An exceptionally long, elegant finish that lingers with velvety oak and rich sherried fruit. Spices unfold—cinnamon, nutmeg—alongside dark chocolate, orange zest, and hints of fig, as the sweetness fades into a refined, lingering echo of polished wood and leather.
