Deep coppery amber with mahogany depth and a warm, sunlit glow.

Nose

Complex with hints of vanilla, wrapped in creamy sherry wood. Dried fruit and gentle oak spice lift the nose, underscoring the classic Speyside elegance of sherry-cask maturation.

Palate

Silky and medium-bodied, the palate mingles ripe fruit with warm oak and a touch of spice, a creamy Sherry sweetness weaving through the texture for a balanced, multi-layered sip.

Finish

Long and luxurious, with sweet dried fruits lingering beneath toasted oak and spice; a warm, velvety finish carrying vanilla notes and a lingering kiss of barrel spice.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
