A rare independant offering of Macallan from the Cadenheads bottlers in Campeltown. A fantastic expression of the distillery. Predominantly bourbon cask matured which adds an unusual angle. This is very textured, waxy and oily with a tarry, savoury element that is complemented by caramel, vanilla and charred nuts. The spirit character of the whisky comes through quite a lot, which is no bad thing. A most unique Macallan expression, one for any miniature collector.

Colour
Bright golden straw with a warm honey-amber glow.
Nose
Waxen and oily, with tarry, savory depth. Caramel and vanilla glow amid toasted nuts and a hint of char, while a bourbon-cask lift lets the Macallan spirit character shine through, yielding a rich, resinous nose.
Palate
An oily, waxy mouthfeel coats the palate, delivering a tarry, savoury core offset by caramel and vanilla. Charred nuts add depth as the Macallan character emerges through the bourbon-forward profile, finishing long and smooth with a subtly resinous warmth.
Finish
Long, waxy and oily, the finish lingers with tarry, savoury notes that slowly peel back to caramel and vanilla. Charred-nut undertones persist, held in check by a gentle oak warmth and a refined, lingering glow.
