This annual release, A Night on Earth - The Journey is a unique expression created using a perfectly balanced combination of exceptional first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels, along with European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks.

Created in collaboration with acclaimed Chinese artist, Nini Sum, this release features innovative multi-layered packaging that provides an exceptional unboxing experience.

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a whisper of mahogany, radiating warm, honeyed depth.

Nose

Toasted oak frames a creamy bed of steamed rice and coconut milk pudding, with bright citrus, vanilla and oat biscuits—an inviting, gently sweet aroma.

Palate

A lively burst of effervescent lemon and lime, harmonized by sweet, creamy vanilla sponge and toasted coconut; a silky palate with gentle sweetness and a citrus-kissed finish.

Finish

Medium-length finish with sweet, toasted oak and vanilla, fading into a warm, creamy echo.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
