Colour

Rich golden amber with a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Lemon citrus leads, unfurling into orange peel with a gentle sweetness that softens but keeps the zest. A quiet vanilla note appears, followed by dark chocolate, with lingering floral and light oak in the background.

Palate

Citrus-forward on the palate, lemon zest and orange peel mingle with a gentle sweetness. Ginger and cinnamon spark spice, while soft oak adds warmth, revealing toasted apple undertones.

Finish

Medium-sweet and malty, with a gentle, slightly dry finish that lingers on the palate, leaving a soft cereal warmth.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
