Tasting Notes

Nose

Aromas of orchard fruit—ripe pear and apple—unfold with honeyed sweetness and vanilla custard. Subtle toffee, almond, and toasted oak mingle with citrus zest and a whisper of spice, delivering a polished, creamy perfume and a touch of warmth.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied palate with dried fig and raisin, orange marmalade, honeyed vanilla, and toasted oak. Sherry influence brings cocoa, candied almond, and warm spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—balanced by elegant oak tannins. Finishes long with fruit, toffee, and a comforting, oak-driven afterglow.

Finish

Silky and lingering, the finish carries sherry-soft fruit and pastry notes—raisin, fig, and a touch of orange zest—woven with gentle oak and vanilla. Warmth expands to cocoa, spice, and a hint of almond, fading to a refined, lingering glow.

Tamnavulin
(Tam-na-VOO-lin) Tamnavulin opened in 1966 in the village of Tomnavoulin, beside the River Livet in the foothills of the Cairngorms. The purpose-built distillery stands on the site of a 16th-century carding mill, and the old wooden water wheel still appears on the brand’s bottles. After closing in 1995 during the industry downturn, the distillery reopened for testing in 2000, underwent a major refurbishment in 2007, and changed the shape of its stills in 2010.
