Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with sunlit warmth and a gentle copper glow.

Nose

Fresh orchard apples and pears with bright citrus zest mingle with vanilla and light oak. A delicate sherry whisper adds raisin and dried apricot notes, subtle spice, and a warm, creamy backdrop that hints at refined sweetness.

Palate

Silky and well-balanced, opening with orchard fruits and honeyed sweetness, veiled in vanilla cream and soft malt. Subtle sherry depth grows with dried fruit and toasted oak, while light pepper and citrus zest brighten the finish. Clean, creamy, and lingeringly comforting.

Finish

Long and refined, the finish unfurls with dried fruit and fig, drifted with orange zest and cocoa nibs. Sherry influence coats the palate, leaving a velvety spice, almond roast, and a gentle oak, fading to a warm, elegant echo.

Tamnavulin
(Tam-na-VOO-lin) Tamnavulin opened in 1966 in the village of Tomnavoulin, beside the River Livet in the foothills of the Cairngorms. The purpose-built distillery stands on the site of a 16th-century carding mill, and the old wooden water wheel still appears on the brand’s bottles. After closing in 1995 during the industry downturn, the distillery reopened for testing in 2000, underwent a major refurbishment in 2007, and changed the shape of its stills in 2010.
