Colour

Luminous golden amber with warm honeyed copper highlights.

Nose

Delicate, honeyed aroma of orchard fruit—apple and pear—rises with vanilla-soft malt. A subtle sherry lift adds warmth, while almond, dried fruit and a whisper of cocoa linger in a refined, inviting bouquet.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied palate with honeyed malt and ripe orchard fruit. Vanilla and almond intertwine with a gentle sherry lift—raisin and fig mingle with cocoa and a touch of spice. Balanced oak provides a warm, refined grip, fading to a long, smooth finish.

Finish

Silky, lightly sherried, the finish carries honeyed orchard fruit and a touch of raisin, then a gentle nutmeg spice and toasted oak. The warmth lingers, evolving into a refined sweetness that coats the palate with quiet grace.

(Loch-na-Gar) Royal Lochnagar was founded by John Begg in 1845 beside the River Dee, close to Balmoral in Royal Deeside. Earlier distilleries using the Lochnagar name had operated nearby, but Begg’s New Lochnagar is the site that developed into the distillery still working today.
