Old Ballantruan Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a rarity. It is only one of a handful of peated malt whiskies coming from the Speyside region. Launched in 2018, this 15 Year Old heavily peated Tomintoul, is laid-back with big peat smoke, along with softer flavours of vanilla, toffee and a touch of woodiness.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery hues and a warm, sunlit glow.

Nose

Gentle peat-reek, with mild gun-flint notes softened by sweet, mature, creamy Speyside malt. Hints of herbal-heathery spice.

Palate

A pronounced, silky peat smoke coats the palate, its intensity softened by toffee sweetness and a gentle oaky spice that lingers with warm, creamy Speyside balance.

Finish

Long, smoky finish with a soft, peaty glow that lingers gracefully. Toffee-sweetness and vanilla weave through gentle oak spice, while herbal-heathery notes fade into a warm barley-sweet echo that lingers on the palate.
