Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.
Another superb vintage Macallan from one of Scotland's oldest (Est 1895) most respected and most reliable Independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail.
At least 18 years old, distilled in 1998 and considering the price of official bottles of 18 year old then this is a downright steal for Sherry cask aged Macallan.

Nose
Opulent sherry-drenched nose with dried fig, plum and raisin, lifted by orange zest and toffee. Vanilla hints mingle with cinnamon and clove; cocoa, leather and a touch of oak add depth, unveiling a rich, mature sweetness.
Palate
Velvety and richly sherried, this Macallan Speymalt coats the palate with raisin, fig and orange peel, balanced by dark chocolate and toffee. Cinnamon and clove weave through subtle oak, leaving a warm, lingering finish and refined, silky fruit.
Finish
Long and luxurious, this finishes with rich sherried sweetness—raisins, fig and orange peel—backed by dark chocolate, toasted spice and a kiss of leather. The oak lingers, silky and warming, with a lasting, balanced dryness that invites another sip.
