Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery gleam and mahogany edges, a warm, sunlit bronze.
Nose
Rich and opulent on the nose, the Spirit of Speyside Festival Edition unfurls layers of deeply polished sherry, brightened by orange zest and dark plum. Notes of fig and raisin mingle with walnut, cocoa, and melted toffee, while ribbons of cinnamon and clove drift over toasted oak. A whisper of vanilla and tobacco completes a warm, luxuriant profile befitting a 43-year-old, cask-strength treasure.
Palate
Richly sherried and full-bodied, this 43-year-old Glenfarclas greets the palate with deep dried fruit, fig and raisin sweetness, and a toffee-vanilla backbone. Spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, it carries polished oak, dark chocolate, and orange zest. At cask strength, a warming, velvety mouthfeel coats the senses, leading to a long, honeyed finish with persistent fruit and spice.
Finish
Long, luxurious and warming, the finish is drenched in sherry-soaked fruit—fig and prune with orange zest—wrapped in velvet oak. Soft spices—cinnamon and clove—linger as the 58.1% cask-strength warmth fades, giving way to roasted nuts and dark chocolate, leaving a refined, enduring tail of elegance.
