Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a burnished copper sheen and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Rich sherry dominates the nose, with dark fruit compote of prune, fig and sultana, brightened by orange zest. Walnut and cocoa threads weave through toasted oak and toffee, while baking spices—cinnamon and clove—add warmth. Even at 63.9%, the aroma remains elegant and substantial, suggesting a refined, long-lingering bouquet of old cask characters and precious maturity.
Palate
Powerful and unctuous on the palate, this Glenfarclas delivers sherry-soaked depth: raisin, fig and date entwined with orange zest, dark chocolate, vanilla and toffee. Spicy warmth from cinnamon and clove layers the oak, yielding a velvety mouthfeel and a long, warming finish tinted by tobacco and leather.
Finish
Long and warming, the finish carries sherry sweetness that lingers as spice deepens. Orange zest and dried fig weave with toasted oak, while cinnamon and clove hold the palate. At cask strength, a cocoa-tinged fade persists with refined dryness.
