Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark mahogany with ruby-copper reflections and a burnished amber edge.
Nose
Huge dense nose of dark treacle and ripe figs, mingling mincemeat, mint toffee, sticky dates and dark honey, with cloves and aromatic winter spices, chocolate-covered raisins, blood orange, dried meat, roasted nuts, old-fashioned ginger cake, sherry-soaked tiramisu.
Palate
Huge, full-bodied attack of dark fruit—figs, dates and raisins—spiced with ginger and clove. Sweet oak delivers chocolate and honey-nut notes, while whispers of tobacco, cured meats and mince pies surface, all carried by a deeply Sherried, lingering mouthfeel.
Finish
Long, decadent finish of chocolate-covered raisins and dark honey, unfolding into fig and blood orange with cocktail bitters, cherry fruitcake, and toasted winter spices. Subtle tobacco and cigar smoke linger, balanced by stem ginger and treacle toffee.
