Douglas Laing's "Xtra Old Particular" is a collection of some of the most rare single cask Scotch whiskies from some of Scotland's most acclaimed and celebrated distilleries, including some that are long-closed resulting in some truly exceptions, cask strength drams.

This 47 year old Garnheath single grain whisky, bottled in 2021, is one of only 124 bottles aged exclusively in a refill Bourbon barrel.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep golden amber with warm copper highlights, sun-warmed and inviting.

Nose

Incredible vanilla sweetness blooms, mingling with warm wood shavings and hints of boiled sweets.

Palate

Fresh fruit salad on the palate, pineapple chunks in syrup and honey-coated cereal, delivering a bright, syrupy sweetness with a comforting, grainy finish.

Finish

A long, creamy finish of sugar-coated raspberries and vanilla cream, paired with toasted oat biscuits and a whisper of charred oak.
