Tasting Notes
Nose
Rich and complex, opening with baked apple, honey and plump raisins. The fruit is generous without becoming overly sweet, supported by deeper notes of mature oak and warming spice. A little water opens the whisky further, bringing forward a fresh ginger note and revealing another layer of aromatic complexity.
Palate
Savoury and distinctly PX-led, with walnuts, juicy raisins and dark fruit at its heart. Gingerbread and cinnamon follow, adding warmth and structure, while the nuttier elements provide balance against the richness of the sherry influence.
Finish
Full, warming and wonderfully festive. It initially moves towards drier walnut, cinnamon and ginger spice before returning to juicy raisin and baked fruit. Rich and lingering, it has all the depth and warmth of a proper after-dinner cigar dram.
