Fettercairn 1st Release 2020 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 16 Year Old
Out of stock
Fettercairn 16 Year Old has been produced using chocolate malted barley and matured in first fill American ex-bourbon casks, before being finished in sherry and port casks for a further two years.
The whisky is said to showcase a specific maturation journey, designed to hero the distillery’s tropical style achieved from the distinctive copper cooling ring distillation process.
Fettercairn 16 Year Old, is the first of a number of new products set to be released this year, as the distillery looks to build on the positive response garnered by previous releases.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a mahogany-tinged glow.
Nose
Vibrant tropical fruits mingle with vanilla and creamy toffee from first-fill bourbon. Dried fig and raisin emerge from the sherry-port finish, weaving cacao, almond and orange zest into a caramel-wood aroma, with a subtle spiced oak lift.
Palate
Rich and creamy on the palate, tropical notes of mango and pineapple mingle with vanilla from first-fill bourbon. Sherry and port finishes layer in dark chocolate, raisin and fig, with warm spice and almond. Silky texture and mid-weight body give way to a lingering cocoa-tinged finish, edged by refined oak.
Finish
Long, elegant finish of sherry- and port-inflected sweetness, with dark fruits—raisins, figs and plums—draped in cocoa and toasted oak. Spice lingers softly, while a whisper of almond and tropical warmth threads through, leaving a velvety, persistent finale.
