A rare independent bottling from House of Rum. This 1999 vintage, 26 Year Old Rum from the since closed Caroni distillery was bottled at 62.7% ABV and is one of only 232 bottles released from Cask #25204

Tar, tobacco and menthol on the nose. Red wine, sherry, ginger and dry spices on the palate. With a long peppery, ginger and menthol finish. A well balanced complex expression.

Caroni Distillery was a legendary Trinidadian rum distillery established in 1918. Located in Trinidad and owned by the Trinidad government for much of its later life, Caroni was renowned for producing heavy, full-bodied rums using its own column and pot stills, and notably using local sugarcane molasses from the nearby Caroni sugar estates.
