Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led American pioneers and explorers to new frontiers. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years.

In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them, we created our signature Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Warm vanilla and creamy caramel lead the aroma, braided with toasted oak and a subtle rye-spice backbone. Hints of apple and pear emerge, while brown sugar and a whisper of cocoa deepen the profile. A refined, inviting nose that promises smooth, balanced warmth.

Palate

Silky, balanced palate of creamy vanilla and caramel, with toasted oak and rye spice. Subtle toffee notes deepen into a warm, lingering finish.

Buffalo Trace
Buffalo Trace is based in Frankfort, Kentucky, on a distilling site with roots stretching back more than two centuries. The distillery was previously known as O.F.C. and later George T. Stagg Distillery, with figures such as E.H. Taylor Jr., George T. Stagg and Albert B. Blanton all playing important roles in its development. It was one of the few American distilleries allowed to continue operating during Prohibition, producing whiskey for medicinal use.
