Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a coppery sheen and a hint of mahogany.
Nose
Opulent sherry notes unfold with dark plum, fig and sultana, loosening into toasted almond and toffee. Rich vanilla and cocoa nibs mingle with baking spices as briny sea air and a whisper of smoked oak thread through, delivering maritime warmth and Islay elegance.
Palate
Opulent and dense on the palate, this Bruichladdich unveils dried fig and raisin sweetness from sherry cask, braided with dark chocolate, toffee and toasted almond. A coastal brine and peppery spice mingle with a velvet, full-bodied mouthfeel—the 64.1% ABV warming but poised. The finish is long and maritime: espresso, cocoa nib, orange zest and oak lingering gracefully.
Finish
Long, coastal finish that clings with warm, sherried depth. Rich raisin and fig mingle with dark chocolate and toasted almond, while a saline maritime whisper lingers on the tongue. Spices from the oak rise and ebb, carrying through to a velvety, sun-warmed glow that slowly fades.
