About Teacher's
Teacher’s began in Glasgow in 1830, when William Teacher started selling whisky through his wife’s grocery shop before building a wider business around dram shops and blended Scotch. Teacher’s Highland Cream was registered in 1884 and became the name most closely associated with the company, with a fuller, malt-rich style that helped it stand apart from lighter blended whiskies.
Ardmore distillery was founded by William Teacher & Sons in 1898 to provide malt whisky for the blend, and its peated Highland spirit remains central to Teacher’s Highland Cream. Now part of Suntory Global Spirits, Teacher’s continues to be built around that lightly smoky, full-flavoured profile, with Highland Cream still sitting at the heart of the range.
