A limited edition 10 Year Old expression of the Black Bottle blend! Known for being comprised of Islay whiskies. This time the Islay whiskies that make up this blend have been matured in casks for a decade, and after that time have been bottled up in the classic black bottle. A good balance of peat alongside more fragrant and fruity notes in her.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with a copper-gold glow and subtle mahogany undertones.

Nose

Peat smoke leads, coastal and smoky, with a medicinal tang and a briny kiss. Underneath, ripe orchard fruits and citrus lift the nose, touched by vanilla sweetness and sherry-softened wood. A hint of cocoa and toasted almond lingers, inviting a layered, warming aroma that preludes the whisky's depth.

Palate

Peat-driven smoke floods the palate, with briny undertones and char from the Islay influence. Fragrant orchard fruits—apple, pear, citrus—pair with vanilla and toffee. A gentle sherry sweetness deepens the mid-palate, finishing with warming peat and sea-salt that linger.

Finish

Long, smoky finish with peat depth that lingers. Fragrant orchard fruits weave through charred sweetness as vanilla and a hint of spice drift into the fading warmth, leaving a cocoa-kissed, lingering glow.

Black Bottle
Black Bottle was introduced in 1879 by Charles, David and Gordon Graham, a family of Aberdeen tea merchants who moved into whisky blending. The blend was originally sold in black glass, giving the brand its name, but the First World War forced a switch to green glass when supplies from Germany were cut off. Ownership later passed through Schenley, Whitbread, Allied Distillers, Highland Distillers, Edrington and Burn Stewart, before the brand became part of CVH Spirits following the 2023 creation of the company after Heineken’s acquisition of Distell.
