This limited edition Bell's Scotch was released to commemorates the birth of Prince Henry of Wales, on 15th September 1984. Yes, we know him as Harry, but Henry appears on the birth certificate.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Warm amber-gold with burnished copper hues and subtle mahogany undertones.

Nose

Opulent sherry aromas rise with raisin, fig and dried cherry, warmed by toffee and burnt sugar. Candied orange peel, almond and subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—linger over rich oak, with a gentle cocoa and leather note completing the inviting bouquet.

Palate

Velvety and medium-bodied, this 8-year-old unfurls sherry-dark fruit notes—raisin, fig, prune—woven with toffee and walnut. Spice lifts with orange zest and cinnamon, while creamy vanilla and toasted oak provide ballast. Balanced and gently drying, it lingers with cocoa and a warm, festive finish.

Finish

A long, velvety finish with sherry-cask influence. Dried fig, toffee and almond mingle with cocoa as warm spice and oak linger, fading to a refined, toasty sweetness.

Bell’s traces its roots to Arthur Bell, a Perth wine and spirits merchant who began vatting malt whiskies together in 1851 to create a more consistent blended Scotch. The “Extra Special” trademark was registered in 1895 and later appeared with the Bell’s name in 1904, becoming the basis of the long-running Bell’s blend. Blair Athol, founded in 1798, became closely tied to the brand after Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
