It’s made using a high-rye mash bill that pays homage to early American distiller Basil Hayden Sr. and is known for a lighter, more approachable style compared with other small batch bourbons.

Lightly matured in charred new American oak, it shows a delicate balance of rye spice and gentle sweetness, with notes of cracked black pepper, subtle citrus zest and soft vanilla on a smooth, medium-length finish. At 40 % ABV, this bourbon is easy to sip neat, on the rocks or in classic cocktails.

It is named after Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., a Maryland-born farmer-distiller who moved to Kentucky and became associated with a higher-rye bourbon style. The brand keeps that link through a lighter, high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon designed to sit apart from the fuller, higher-proof styles of Booker’s, Baker’s and Knob Creek.
