The 9th release in the Master's Collection from Woodford Reserve has been finished in casks that previously held Pinot Noir wine from the famed Sonoma-Cutrer winery in California's Russian River.
A previous release from the series experimented with a Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay cask finish.
The result is a warm and fruit-forward whiskey with notes of cherry, raspberry, blackberry and spice.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm copper-amber with ruby-red highlights and a polished mahogany glow.
Nose
Ripe red fruits rise on the nose—bright cherry, raspberry and blackberry—touched by a wine-kissed lift from the Pinot Noir finish. Vanilla and toasted oak weave with warm spice, cinnamon and clove, adding depth and a velvet, inviting aroma.
Palate
Silky, medium-full on the palate with fruit-forward intensity. Red cherry, raspberry and blackberry mingle beneath Pinot Noir–driven tannins, adding wine-like depth. Spices such as cinnamon and clove layer over vanilla-tinged oak. Balanced acidity keeps sweetness in check, delivering a warm, orchard-fresh finish that lingers with fruit and spice.
Finish
Opulent, long finish where cherry, raspberry and blackberry echo on the palate, carried by the Pinot Noir cask influence. Spices unfurl in a warm, wine-kissed fade, with a subtle tannic lift and a whisper of oak that lingers gracefully.
