Westward Stout Cask American Single Malt Whiskey
Out of stock
A celebration of Oregon’s legendary brewing culture, this whiskey grew out of our longstanding cask-trading tradition among a select group of beer producers in the Northwest.
For as long as we’ve been making whiskey, we’ve traded our freshly-emptied barrels with some of our brewing friends in and around the Northwest, who have in turn “seasoned” them with Stout before returning them again. Our Stout Cask Finish begins with our Westward American Single Malt, and is then aged for one year in Stout casks.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm chestnut core, edged by a roasted-stout bronze glow.
Nose
Aromas of dark roasted malt, espresso and cocoa mingle with caramelized vanilla and toasted oak. Subtle notes of burnt sugar, toffee and a hint of stout-imparted richness lift the glass, hinting at a sweet, indulgent complexity.
Palate
Full-bodied and velvety, this Stout Cask finish coats the palate with roasted malt, cocoa, and espresso. Caramelized toffee, vanilla, and oak spice weave through dark fruit notes, while a subtle, bittersweet edge lingers from the stout barrel. Creamy texture gives way to a warm, lingering finish that hints at the Northwest’s barley and brew-house collaboration.
Finish
Espresso and dark chocolate linger, carried by toasted-malt richness from the stout cask. The finish is warm and oak-kissed, with coffee, cocoa, and a whisper of vanilla caramel, punctuated by a subtle roast that invites the next sip.
