Nose

Rich sherry influence fills the nose with dried fig and raisin, orange zest and toffee. Dark chocolate, vanilla and toasted oak mingle with cinnamon and clove, while espresso and a touch of leather deepen the aroma, signaling the Macallan’s 19 years in cask.

Palate

Opulent and full-bodied, this 19-year Macallan glides across the palate with velvety richness. Dried fruits—raisins, dates and figs—partner dark chocolate, toffee and orange zest, while cinnamon, nutmeg and clove weave through seasoned oak. The 55.1% ABV lends a syrupy warmth that coats the mouth, leaving a long, cocoa-kissed finish with hints of leather.

Finish

An opulent, long finish where sherried sweetness deepens into dried fruits, orange zest and cacao. Cinnamon and clove meet warm oak, unfurling in the tail to leave a velvet, caramel-laden warmth that lingers with hints of coffee and refined oak elegance.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
