Nose

Sherry-drenched aromas of dried fig and plum, with ripened orange zest and caramelized toffee. Vanilla and almond weave through oak spice, while a soft maritime hint—sea air and salted caramel—nods to Coastal Command, delivering a warm, refined nose that speaks of Macallan’s classic elegance.

Palate

Silky and velvety, this unfolds with raisin and orange zest, offset by toffee and dark chocolate. Subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—rests over warm oak, delivering a refined, cocoa-kissed finish.

Finish

Long, refined finish with lush dried fruit and dark chocolate from the sherry, easing into toasted oak and spice. A subtle coastal breeze—salty, sea-scented notes—drifts through, leaving a softly saline echo that lingers gracefully.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
