Bottled for Duncan Taylor’s The Octave collection, this Royal Brackla was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 at 11 years old. Matured in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry octave cask and drawn from cask #9346593, it was bottled at 53.9% ABV as a UK-exclusive release limited to just 87 bottles.
The small octave cask creates greater contact between the whisky and the oak, bringing concentrated sherry character to Royal Brackla’s naturally rich Highland spirit. Dark fruit, treacle and chocolate sit alongside orchard fruit and warming spice, resulting in a powerful yet balanced single-cask whisky with considerable depth.

Colour
Deep amber with rich mahogany undertones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Opulent PX-drenched nose: raisins, fig and date fuse with prune and dark toffee, a cocoa sheen curling through. Orange zest and vanilla thread warm oak and spice, while a whisper of roasted almond adds depth. Rich, syrupy fruitiness lingers with refined sherry sweetness.
Palate
Opulent and velvety, the palate delivers luxuriant PX sweetness—raisin, fig and date—settled in toffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. Warm cinnamon and ginger spice weave through velvety oak tannins, with a bright orange zest lift. Rich, concentrated and long, finishing with dried fruit, cocoa and a satisfying, warming spice echo.
Finish
A long, luxurious finish of PX sweetness—prune, raisin and fig—woven with toffee, cocoa and vanilla. Velvet spices and warm oak unfold, then slowly fade to a lingering syrupy glow with a subtle coffee-kissed edge.
