A small batch of six barrels from Royal Brackla distillery has been used to create this Highland Single Malt, distilled in 2014 and aged for nine years. One of three distilleries with the honorary ‘Royal’ suffix, it was used to create the first blended whisky in the 1860s. Its whiskies display the perfect balance between perfumed fruit and freshness.

Colour

Bright amber-gold with coppery undertones and a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Floral and fragrant, with honeysuckle, tarragon and rose petal water; hints of sweet spice and custard creams.

Palate

Buttery on the palate, with a bright lemon oil twist and a subtle peppery spice that lifts fresh Scottish strawberry flavours.

Finish

Elegant buttermilk on the finish, with a delicate kiss of spice that lingers.

(BRACK-la) Founded in 1812 in an area notorious for the production of illicit whisky in Cawdor (nearby Cawdor Castle made famous by one William Shakespeare as the place where Macbeth allegedly killed King Duncan) Inverness-shire and one of only three distilleries to have Royal status, this one from Kling William IV in 1834 for being “The Kings Own Whisky” and connected to one Andrew Usher who is credited for creating the first commercial blend of Scotch under the “old vatted Glenlivet” label and an agent for the distillery during the 1860s.
