Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright golden amber with sunlit honey tones and a hint of copper.

Nose

Herbal infusion of rosemary, thyme and chamomile unfurls over soft honeyed malt. Citrus zest and vanilla weave through, while a whisper of sea breeze and saline notes lend a maritime glow. Elegant, fragrant and gently aromatic.

Palate

Silky, softly herbal on the palate, a malt-and-grain blend tempered by an herbal infusion. Herbaceous notes of thyme, sage and heather mingle with gentle vanilla, honeyed malt and citrus zest. A maritime lift, sea-salt and breeze, frames a creamy, lingering finish with soft spice.

Finish

An elegant herbal finish that lingers like a sea-breeze. Subtle herbal notes drift on the palate, touched by a hint of citrus and a faint maritime salt. The warmth from the 40% ABV remains discreet, leaving a clean, refined fade with a gentle sweetness that slowly dissolves into a dry, mineral finish.

Penderyn
(pen-DERR-in) Penderyn was founded in 2000 in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, becoming the first whisky distillery in Wales in more than a century. The idea began in the late 1990s, when a group of friends set out to revive Welsh whisky, and the first Penderyn single malt was launched on St David’s Day in 2004 in the presence of Prince Charles.
