North of Scotland (silent) Single Malts Of Scotland Single Grain Scotch Whisky 50 Year Old · 1965 Vintage
Out of stock
Introducing the first and only official bottling from the North of Scotland Distillery Co, Alloa: a single-grain Scotch whisky aged in bourbon casks for more than 50 years. This cult Distillery fell silent in 1980 and there is a very small chance that this Whisky was produced using Barley and not grain. There is also a chance that these were the very last casks available.
The classic sweet notes found in many grain whiskies have been tempered by the time in good wood.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with honeyed warmth and coppery edges, a radiant sunlit bronze glow.
Nose
Pecan nuts and Custard Creams mingle with nectarine and raspberry. Classic sweet grain—toffee, golden syrup and baked apple—are lifted by a touch of polish and dusty cinnamon, hinting at age. Rich crème caramel, blood orange and glacé cherries unfold, building from the core to a lingering, refined sweetness.
Palate
Thick, creamy mouthfeel that opens into a juicy lift after the second sip. Custard and dry spice—nutmeg and cinnamon—whet the senses, while tarragon and oregano mingle with blood orange and toasted hazelnuts, finishing with a subtle nuttiness and a bright citrus glow.
Finish
Walnut and toasted almonds linger with vanilla fudge, slowly fading into a warm, refined finish that invites the next sip.
