Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with coppery highlights and a wine-dark glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry floods the nose with dark dried fruits—raisin, fig, date—drizzled with toffee and molasses. Peat smoke threads through a silky, resinous veil, hinting at barbecued marshmallow and iodine. Subtle oak, roasted almond, and espresso deepen the richness, while a delicate note of orange zest and spice—cinnamon, clove—brightens the finish.
Palate
Velvety and opulent, the palate opens with deep sherry sweetness—figs, raisin and treacle—brightened by citrus zest. Rich peat smoke threads through, revealing dark chocolate, toffee and spice. The wine-cask influence adds mellow oak and a whisper of salt, culminating in a long, warming finish where smoky fruit lingers.
Finish
Long, velvety finish with peat smoke mingling with rich sherry sweetness. Dried fig and raisin carry cocoa, orange zest, and warm spice, while toasted oak frames the final warmth. The peat gradually diminishes, leaving a lingering ember of smoky sweetness and refined cacao notes.
