Michel Couvreur Overaged Malt Whisky
Out of stock
The Michel Couvrer whiskies are Scottish whiskies that are shipped over to Burgundy in France and matured in a variety of wine casks. This "Overaged Malt" is a blended malt aged in ex Sherry casks. Bottled at 43%. Dalmore esque and the closest to cognac/brandy in style in a whisky i have tried out of many tasted. Very grapey and something distinctly "French" about this with some very aged malty and antique oak notes, classy after dinner whisky this.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a copper-gold sheen and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Sherry-rich nose of raisin and fig, interlaced with dark grape and orange zest. Antique oak and polished malt lend a cognac-like elegance, while caramel, vanilla and a touch of leather add refined warmth. A distinctly wine-cask character with grape-driven depth, exuding luxury and after-dinner finesse.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and refined. Grapey, raisiny fruit from the sherry influence blends with aged malt, delivering cognac-like warmth. Notes of fig, dark caramel, and antique oak ride a malty backbone, finishing long with toasted almond and a hint of orange zest.
Finish
Sherry-kissed and cognac-like, the finish lingers with raisin, fig and antique oak. Velvety, grapey sweetness fades to warm spice and polished tannins, leaving a long, refined glow with elegant after-dinner character.
